Instead of using the messy heat embossing method, I’m using the Sunflower 3D embossing folder, which is my product of the month in September.

We’ll first emboss a piece of Basic White card stock. Mine is 5-1/4 x 4.

Then I’ll flip it over to color on the de-bossed side. You may color with whatever you have. I used blending brushes in the completed photo and Stampin’ Blends in the video.

When all the de-bossed areas are colored, use a dark ink pad to lightly drag across the whole piece of card stock. Drag in multiple directions to ensure even coverage of all the high spots.

I found that there were a few bare places, so I went back over those with my Blends. Don’t worry about getting every spot. Sometimes the little white areas add more dimension! Be sure to set it aside to dry completely before adhering it to your card base.

I turned this one into a portrait card and reversed the colors from the original. I also embossed the edge of the inside layer before stamping the sentiment.
